Mineral Extraction in action

Milton Keynes Council has informed the government that they do not want to increase the amount of gravel and sand extracted in the borough and have rejected the South East Minerals Plan proposal for an extra 120,000 tonnes each year.

Local Councillor Sam Potts says: "These materials are found mainly alongside our river beds, and the fields around Sherington and Lathbury would have been prime areas. We don't want our attractive rural landscape spoilt by more mineral extraction."
