A MAJOR project is to start next week to improve roads across Milton Keynes.
The works are due to start next Monday (12th July) and is set to continue until the third week or so in September.
The work involves removing the existing surface down to a depth of 110mm (in most cases) and then laying new surfacing to existing level.
Some of this work will involve road closures and where this is required appropriate diversion routes will be signposted for motorists
A council highways spokesman said: “We apologise for any inconvenience that the works may cause and suggest that extra time be allowed for journeys but ultimately this work will improve the long term surface of the roads in question.”
Cllr Sam Potts, Cabinet Member, added: “Our highways team has been working very hard, making the best use of the resources available to the council, to fill in potholes and carry out other vital repairs to roads, and this resurfacing work should greatly improve travel conditions across Milton Keynes. “
