A422 Chicheley to Astwood road improvement

The A422 is due to have improvements as part of Milton Keynes Council’s annual programme of road safety accident remedial schemes. The section between Chicheley and Astwood has been identified as a high priority route, which meets the Council’s criteria in terms of the numbers of reported injury accidents and the justification for the implementation of engineering remedial measures. The nature of the accidents includes loss of control and junction turning movements;

approximately half of these occurred during darkness. New road markings and reflective road studs are to be provided to enhance the layout of the road; the existing junction signs are to be upgraded with new signs and reflective bollards provided to highlight the presence of the junctions during darkness.

The scheme is due to be implemented during the latter part of the current financial year.

Local Councillor, Sam Potts said: “I am delighted that the Council has listened to the representations that I have made.”
