Although Sherington ward did not have local elections this year – across Milton Keynes local elections took place.

Liberal Democrats gained 3 seats

Conservatives lost 3 seats

Labour stayed where they were

This leaves the overall balance of the council:-

Liberal Democrats 24

Conservatives 17

Labour 9

Independent 1

Cllr Sam Potts said, “The Conservative Party said time and again they were going to take control of the council and seats off us this year and just like all Conservative promises it ended up empty.

“The Liberal Democrats have taken on and won against some real big Tory players, the Conservative’s Youngest Councillor – gone, the Conservative Finance guru – gone and the Conservative Deputy Leader – gone. The Conservative Party in Milton Keynes are now left with no future, no brains and no Leadership.

“I congratulate all my Liberal Democrat colleges for this fantastic victory
