One Day Compost Bin Sale

Posted By: sam June 21st, 2010

Liberal Democrat Milton Keynes Council is holding a special one day compost bin sale on Saturday, 17th July where residents can take advantage of our special offer – £10 for a 220 litre compost bin (normally sold at £14 plus £5 delivery).

While Milton Keynes residents are now enjoying the benefits of our food and garden waste scheme to dispose of organic waste, home composting is a great way to use garden and some food waste to provide a free fertiliser and soil improver which can be used on flower beds, vegetable plots and window boxes in your own garden.

To take up this offer, please call 01908 254139. Payment is by cash only, the offer is limited to a maximum three bins per household and you will need your own transport to take the bin home.

For those residents who are unsure how to get started making their own compost, the Lib Dem Council will also be holding a series of free composting talks throughout the morning – please phone as above.

When: Saturday, 17th July 9.30 – 12.30pm (please book your collection time)

Where: Our Council Depot at 9 Dickens Road, Old Wolverton, MK12 5QF

Talk times: 10am, 11am and 12 noon (please book) each lasting around 40 minutes

Cllr Sam Potts said, “Recycling has always been a priority in Milton Keynes since the Liberal Democrats took control in 2002. Making your own compost is green, healthy and good fun.
